Questions, answered
Is the free tier crippled? No. Self-Host includes every module — there’s no feature paywall. You’re trading money for the work of running a server and Postgres yourself.
What does “open-core” mean here? The product is open source under the AGPL. The paid tiers sell hosting, updates, and support — not locked features. You can always leave with your data.
Do you take a cut of our donations? No. Chonk is CRM software, not a payment processor. You connect your own Stripe (or other processor) and keep your rates.
Can we start hosted and move to self-host later (or vice versa)? Yes. It’s the same software and the same database either way.
